Six Generations of Growers!

 

Here at That Cherry Guy, fine fruit isn’t just our buisness,  it’s a family tradition. Our orchards are the living story of six generations of the Green family, whose roots in Lenswood go back almost two whole centuries.

 

In 1838, John Green, his wife Cecily, and their six children arrived in South Australia aboard the ship Eden, having left home in Sussex, England. After settling first in Magill, the Green family later moved to Lenswood, where our orchards still thrive today.

 

Over the years, the family has grown everything from vegetables to apples, pears, and flowers, gradually shaping the land into very productive orchards. Each generation passing down not just land but lifetimes of growing knowledge and eagerness to create exceptional produce.

 

Today, we continue that legacy, with generations 5 and 6 of the Green family working side by side to grow some of the finest apples, pears, and cherries the Adelaide Hills has to offer. Since 2016, we’ve brought this farm-fresh goodness across South Australia through our roadside shed-door fridge in Lenswood and via our farm-direct deliveries. When you eat our fruit, you’re tasting the outcome of generations of Green family expertise.
